The three BBL treatments
- Forever Young BBL: for sun damage, uneven tone and early signs of ageing.
- Forever Clear BBL: for active acne, using light to calm breakouts and bacteria.
- SkinTyte: infrared heat that tightens and firms skin.
How BBL works
Unlike a laser, which uses one wavelength, BBL uses a range of wavelengths filtered for each concern. Brown spots absorb the light and rise to the surface, where they darken and flake away over about a week. Redness and small vessels fade as the light seals them.
Who BBL suits
BBL works best on lighter to medium skin tones that are not tanned. Deeper skin tones are usually better served by Nd:YAG or pico lasers, which we can recommend at consultation.
Aftercare
- Expect pepper-like darkening of spots that flakes off in 5 to 10 days; do not pick them
- Avoid sun and tanning for 2 weeks before and after
- Use SPF 50 daily and a gentle moisturiser

These treatments are not interchangeable. Each has its own purpose:

Questions people ask
Is BBL the same as IPL?
Both use broadband light. BBL is a more advanced, more controllable version with specific programmes such as Forever Young.
How soon will I see BBL results?
Pigment usually lifts within 1 to 2 weeks; redness and texture improve over the course.
Can BBL treat melasma?
Melasma can worsen with heat-based light, so it is usually treated with other methods. We assess this first.
