How laser tattoo removal works
Ink particles are too large for the body to remove. The laser's very short pulses shatter them into smaller fragments, which immune cells carry away over the following weeks. That is why sessions are spaced out: the fading continues between visits.
What affects the number of sessions
- Ink colour: black and dark blue respond best; green, light blue and yellow are harder
- Ink density: professional tattoos hold more ink than amateur ones
- Age of the tattoo: older tattoos fade faster
- Location: areas with good circulation, closer to the heart, clear faster
- Your health: not smoking and staying active help clearance
Pain and aftercare
It feels like a rubber band snapping against the skin, and we use cooling for comfort. Afterwards the area can whiten briefly, then be red and swollen. Keep it clean, moisturised and covered from the sun, and do not pick any blisters or crusts.

Questions people ask
Can every tattoo be fully removed?
Most fade completely or almost completely. Some colours may leave a faint shadow.
Does tattoo removal scar?
Scarring is rare when aftercare is followed and sessions are properly spaced.
Can laser lighten a tattoo for a cover-up?
Yes. Two or three sessions often lighten it enough for a new design.
