How laser pigment removal works
The laser fires extremely short, powerful pulses. Pigment absorbs the energy and shatters, while the surrounding skin is left largely untouched. The treated spot darkens, forms a light crust and flakes off, and the body's immune cells clear the remaining particles over the following weeks.

Melasma is different
Melasma is a hormonal, heat-sensitive pigmentation that can rebound after aggressive laser. It needs a gentler, combined plan with skincare, sun protection and sometimes low-energy laser. Your doctor will tell you which type of pigmentation you have.
Aftercare
- Keep the area clean and moisturised; do not pick crusts
- Avoid sun exposure and use SPF 50 every day for at least 4 weeks
- Avoid scrubs and strong acids until healed

Treated spots usually stay gone, but new ones can form with sun exposure, so daily SPF is essential in Dubai.
Is laser pigment removal safe for darker skin?
Yes, with the right settings. Darker skin has a higher risk of temporary darkening, so we may use a test spot first.
