Red or white stretch marks: why it matters
New stretch marks (striae rubrae) are pink, red or purple and may feel slightly raised. They still have an active blood supply, so they usually respond better and faster. Calming the redness with Nd:YAG laser and rebuilding collagen with RF microneedling often works well.
Older stretch marks (striae albae) are white or silver, thin and sometimes slightly sunken, like the ones in the photo above. They need collagen to be rebuilt inside the mark, with Morpheus8 Pro, Fotona or fractional CO2 laser, and they improve more gradually.
Which treatment may be suitable for my concern?
The same collagen-building treatments are used for acne scars, because both are a form of scarring in the deeper skin.
What results to expect
Stretch marks fade and soften rather than disappear. Most people notice smoother texture and less contrast after 2 to 3 sessions, and collagen keeps building for about 3 months after each treatment. Newer red marks usually improve more than old white ones. We take photos at your consultation so progress can be compared fairly.
If the skin around the marks is also loose, for example after major weight loss, the plan may include tightening as well; see loose skin after weight loss.
Stretch marks after pregnancy
Pregnancy is one of the most common causes of stretch marks on the tummy, hips and breasts. Energy-based treatments are not used during pregnancy, so treatment is planned afterwards. If you are breastfeeding, the doctor confirms the right timing at your consultation.
Sun, darker skin and Dubai
Strong sun can darken freshly treated skin. Keep treated areas covered or use SPF 50 for several weeks after laser or microneedling, and avoid tanning before sessions. On darker or tanned skin, the doctor chooses settings that keep the risk of pigment changes low, which is one reason RF microneedling is often preferred to CO2 laser.

Questions people ask
Can stretch marks be removed completely?
No treatment removes them completely, but they can be made much less noticeable: flatter, smoother and closer to your skin tone.
What works for old white stretch marks?
Treatments that rebuild collagen, such as Morpheus8 Pro RF microneedling, Fotona or fractional CO2 laser, usually over several sessions.
Are red stretch marks easier to treat?
Yes. Newer red or purple marks usually respond better than old white ones, so it helps to start early.
How many sessions will I need?

Is stretch mark treatment painful?
Numbing cream is applied before Morpheus8, and most people feel heat and pressure. Laser sessions feel like warm snaps.

Do stretch mark creams work?
Moisturisers improve how the skin feels, but they do not rebuild collagen deep inside the mark. Clinic treatments work at that level.
